hi. i'm steph.
a living in hong kong blogger. a trauma survivor blogger. a raising teenagers blogger. a recovering from an eating disorder blogger. basically just a life blogger.
When I was 20 I taught English in China for a semester. One long weekend, the other teachers and I went for a trip on a "sleeper train" to see the country. While attempting to change my pants in the bathroom, I kicked off my Chaco, and it fell down the hole that was the toilet and onto the tracks.
I've always wondered if anyone ever found that Chaco, and what they thought happened to its twin.
The years have gone by, and I've left other things behind. Some of them have stayed in the past, like my Chaco. Others have caught up with me. But now, I'm focused on not leaving so many things behind. Instead, I'm trying to sit with them. Face them. Heal them. And move forward with them.
It's messier. But I've found it's better when there are no Chacos left behind.

I currently live in Hong Kong with my lover man, Anthony, and my 4 teenagers. I spend my time healing from intense childhood trauma, fighting an eating disorder, hiking, kayaking, yoga-ing, writing, and working on a team for a podcast. Life is good, and life is hard. Life is what I write about.
always makes me smile
